There is an asthetic reason for watch makers not to use sapphire crystal with vintage remakes/homages. There is a vintage look that comes with acrylic. It is less "flashy" and adds a unique element to how the dial is experienced.

The 12 hr. Totalizer is used for total time since the prop was initially spun up. Be it land marks for VFR flights or total time a pilot would find all those dial thingys useful. Fine vid! Time your pizza!

Have the Cadisen, like the colors, but to me it wears small. I'm a fan of bigger watches.

Very nice watch George. I do like it and it's a decent movement. They got the dial, hands, and movement. The date looks good. And I like the brand name. Militado sounds good. As for using a Chronograph George, I actually use it! I'm involved in training a fledgling rugby team and use the chrono to measure ruck speed passes..! Anyone involved in sprinting or other high speed athletics, swimming, etc will use a chronograph and that's a hell of a lot of people. So people who say they use the chronograph function are probably not lying. 😉

Thanks George I have the Helm Komodo (2.5 years) and I covet it as much as my Oris Aquis. So I bought this Cadisen in the last sale with a fitted end tropical strap, as a beater, so my true beater does not get beaten🤣

Yeah don't wait for the real thing, Have to have it now so buy a clomage and know its still not the real thing, and everyone else who knows watches knows too. LOL. Pass if I cant wait for the real deal then I didn't really want it.

Hello George! Greetings from Brazil. I need to give you a watch tip. Very cheep one from Cadisen, with a Myiota 8215 series on it. It's another Cadisen model C8225 a homage (I think so) to a Hamilton Jazzmaster Slim. For about 40 US dolars. You just need to change the awful bracelet for a nice leather strap. It has a 38mm diameter, with sapphire (no AR) and a 22mm lugs (a bit strange, but it looks very cool). I have the blue one (all steel) I change the bracelet to a brown leather strap. I love this cheap watch.

For me, I’m usually not a supporter of Homaging Micro Brands. However, I don’t believe anyone who wants a Helm will be satisfied with just getting this. Also when Helm started, AliExpress was a joke, and it was “worth” the wait to get such a high quality piece at such a low price. It’s not the case anymore. Again all my humble opinions. Thanks for the great review!

A replica of a micro brand? That`s a bit sad... Just pay a bit more and wait for the real one. I`d also much prefer an NH35 to Miyota 8000, and the lume. Its more important to support micro brands than the likes of Rolex and Omega etc.

Received my Helm Vanuatu 2 weeks ago. Have to say, it is even better than expected.

Not all that of a watch specially with the polished case sides, better with a brushed side cases and as you pointed out the bezel function in relation to the alignment is not right. I would not buy it even for $150

Why would you use a Sellita movement and then delete the seconds hand? Just use quartz and knock $600 off the price. No one would know the difference.

Good video thanks George. I don't mind the lack of a second hand as don't get so annoyed if watch not running accurately. I find a two hander easier to set as you don't need to wait for a second hand to go to zero to match phone time. Despite a decent movement you can pick a Hamilton Jazzmaster or Intra-Matic on the grey market below $500, they both have s similar movement with the ETA2892. I think they offer nicer dials and a date. I own the Jazzmaster Thinline and its one of the favourites in my collection

Without a second hand how do you tell how fast/slow it is running? I keep my watches in a watch box, not on a Timegrapher
